Strategies for the operational indicators analysis that make it easier the decision making in the company Extrusiones S.A using Power BI

Abstract

The following project details a proposal based on business intelligence for the company Extrusiones S.A looking for this becomes a tool that gather the most relevant data generated in the plant and supports the decision making of the teams that are part of the operational department of the company.

The research will be descriptive in nature with a quantitative approach and will use different data sources generated by the company's information system that serves as input for the development of the solution proposed under an ETL methodology using the Power BI software.

It is intended to impact the development of the company's data analytics projects from the identification of the data requirements of operational teams and present a methodology that allows extracting, transforming, and loading all the data necessary for the design and creation of dashboards in Power BI that will be visual tools for quick searching to identify waste and improvements in the plant.

This research will raise awareness among the company's employees about the value of making decisions based on data and will allow to deploy work plans that improve the operational performance of the plant that will positively impact the financial result and allow identifying improvement opportunities that seek to reduce costs and improve competitiveness and innovation as a value offer to the market.
