Evaluate environmental practices in the brickmaking sector of Norte de Santander

Abstract

As is often observed in the department of Norte de Santander, belonging to Colombian territory, is not monitored and controlled the effect they have on the environment of the brick-industry companies, these companies remain a major cause of diseases at the regional level, because high air pollution created to conduct their practices, this pollution creates impairment of both people and the environment around us, so it will be conducted this investigation with the objective of evaluating environmental practices that have the ladrillero enterprises sector in the region.
“It is an uncontrolled and unregulated, unsustainable productive activity to the regional environment, because it implies a constant degradation of urban and rural ecosystems.” (Coah, 2002)It alters or modifies the morphology of the land, natural drainage, mass movements (sliding), sedimentation and deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions, missions of particulate matter (dust) are altered. “The development of the brick is one of the ways to contribute to deforestation and pollution of the environment”, according to a study conducted two years ago by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN)”.
Overall companies ladrillero sector Norte de Santander shows that 90% of these companies have been improving their environmental practices, as the vast majority of these have become aware of the negative impact they have on the environment due to high pollution
