Abstract

Background: In the city of Cúcuta, many problems have arisen with housing plans, as a large number of people are waiting for their own homes. This indicates that the number of people without adequate housing continues to rise daily in Colombia. Due to the increase in displaced persons and people with informal jobs, as well as the growing number of local families without decent housing, social programs were created to analyze housing development and seek initiatives to help informal workers or those forcibly displaced to acquire their own homes. Social work in housing has been characterized by its contribution to improving quality of life, enhancing living conditions, and promoting equal opportunities for all citizens to access decent housing. To this end, work is being done with individuals, organizations, and the community to strengthen them, resolve problems, and promote public housing policies for social protection. Objective: To identify social housing development plans in the city of Cúcuta. Methods: This research was based on previous studies of projects implemented for the population in need of decent housing in Cúcuta. Results: Most projects undertaken in Cúcuta aim to help those who truly need it, but some individuals take advantage of the system and also receive benefits even if they don't actually need them. Conclusion: The housing projects were analyzed, and it was determined that stricter controls are needed in the allocation of housing units.
