Identity Reflexes: Physical Appearance and its Impact on Self-Esteem

Abstract

This article uses a qualitative approach involving articles, surveys and research to  
analyze the impact of fashion on self-esteem. It begins with a thorough analysis of scholarly 
sources on the topic. Then compare the ideas with personal experiences. To  
compare these experiences with the ideas in the article, use arguments to help identify  
similarities and differences. This article answers questions such as: what is self-esteem, how is it 
formed, and how is it maintained? How is it maintained, and what role does family and society 
play in the development of self-esteem? In addition, we will explore the complexity of self
esteem and analyze its components, factors that include them and their impact on people's lives. 
Ralph Waldo determined that self-confidence and success go hand in hand and expressed the 
following "Self-confidence is the first secret of success", in the same line we will examine how 
fashion and appearance influence self-esteem and how various tools can be used to reinforce 
confidence and authenticity. 
Throughout the years, self-esteem has been a controversial topic in society, for a long time it has 
not been given the relevance it deserves, however, it has currently been a hot topic and of great 
importance worldwide, many people have taken the task of investigating and analyzing how this 
factor that greatly affects the lives of people and determines how others see it and therefore how 
it will be treated.
