Abstract

The research focused on the impact of the armed conflict on tourism promotion in the Catatumbo region, through a qualitative and experimental analysis. Various studies were reviewed using academic databases, based on comparative case studies and contextual analysis. The results showed that the pervasive violence restricts tourism activities. However, models such as ecotourism, community-based tourism, and memory tourism emerge as alternatives to overcome these barriers.
