Abstract

Simultaneously with the organizations growth and evolution, the analysis of companies in the generation or destruction value over time has become relevant, where valuing considers multiple factors such as characteristics, real situation, sector in which it competes, relative position and future plans.
In order to address this situation, this research is aimed at financially valuing a company that belongs to the motorcycle assembly subsector in Colombia, involving macroeconomic variables, such as, representative market rate, consumer confidence index and placement interest rate. of credit, thus allowing to determine its situation in terms of value and analyze the relationship with the variables of the economic environment that have the greatest impact, in order to evaluate its financial reality. The above is achieved through the application of Discounted Cash Flow (Hereinafter DCF), which is a valuation model that takes into account the cost of capital as a continuity value.
According to the methodology implemented, a quantitative approach was selected, where a financial model is applied and validated in a real case, achieving a contrast between relevant variables at an economic level and the income of the target company. of study, thus allowing the development of correlational research. Additionally, the financial statements were projected based on a trend analysis. Among the main results is the determination of the discount rate, opting for the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) estimated at 16.87%, as well as the identification of the consumer confidence index as the macroeconomic variable with the highest correlation with motorcycle market sales in Colombia. Based on the DCF model, a fair value of the company was obtained of COP 400.029.462.000 to December 31, 2022.
