Performance evaluation constitutes a central tool in human talent management within emergency medical transport, as it makes it possible to identify staff strengths, weaknesses, and development potential. This contributes to improving service quality, increasing productivity and efficiency, and optimizing resources. The main objective of the research was to analyze the relationship between performance evaluation and human talent management in emergency transport companies in Cúcuta. A descriptive–correlational study with both field and documentary design was conducted. The population included eight companies, and the sample consisted of 31 participants (managers, area heads, and employees). The data collection instrument was a questionnaire validated by experts. The results revealed a positive and significant correlation between the two variables. Specialized literature also highlights that the proper use of performance evaluation is associated with improvements in service quality, productivity, and the identification of training and development needs. Within this context, the study supports the relevance of this practice for human talent management in the sector, although the conclusions should be interpreted with caution due to the small sample size and the cross-sectional nature of the design, which limits the generalization of the findings. It is concluded that companies that do not implement systematic performance evaluation processes miss opportunities to strengthen their management and institutional performance. It is recommended to establish objective, transparent, and equitable evaluation systems, accompanied by staff training and the strategic use of results to guide human talent management.
