The problem of Venezuelan migration has intensified in the last decade, generating significant impacts in various dimensions of development such as economic and social. Geographically, the municipality of Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia, has faced an unprecedented migratory phenomenon that has transformed the local labor market. On the other hand, the objective of this research was to analyze the labor dynamics resulting from the Venezuelan migratory influx in Pamplona during different periods. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was adopted with a descriptive and interpretative design, using semi-structured interviews, direct observation and documentary review with key actors in the labor market. The results show a predominant insertion of migrants in informal jobs, generating low salaries, scarce labor protection and informality. The results identified social tensions between local employers and workers, who perceive migrants as a threat to job stability. At the institutional level, there was evidence of weak state articulation in the face of the phenomenon, with non-governmental organizations being the main agents of attention. Survival strategies among migrants, such as self-employment and support from informal networks, were also highlighted. In conclusion, Venezuelan migration has reconfigured the Pamplona labor market, generating social, economic and political challenges that require comprehensive public policy responses to promote effective and sustainable integration.
