Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the correlation between soft skills and the work environment among employees of the company Servicio Pre-Exequiales Santo Ángel, located in San José de Cúcuta. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of employees of the funeral sector company in the municipalities of Cúcuta, Sardinata, Cucutilla, Salazar, Villa Caro, Durania, and Gramalote, belonging to the department of Norte de Santander. The sample, of a census type, included the 25 employees who make up the entire population under study. Two instruments were used for data collection: the HABA Scale, designed to measure soft skills and which had a Cronbach's alpha of 0.94, demonstrating high internal reliability; and the EDCO Scale, used to assess the organizational climate, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.88, demonstrating adequate internal consistency. The results showed a high level of application of soft skills and an average level in the dimensions of the organizational climate. Finally, Pearson's correlation analysis, performed using the SPSS program, determined a weak and insignificant correlation between the two variables.
