Agility is not only a management methodology, it suggests an iterative approach with a fundamental change in the organization's operations, where in addition to representing new practices, it integrates a series of actions that contribute to the organization's efficiency. In public administration, it is necessary to emphasize a quick and timely response to citizens' requests and the ability to implement products or services quickly. In sports management, the importance of optimizing resources and promoting the technological transformation of the sector, to improve competitiveness and social welfare, is emphasized. Objective: to analyze the current state and understanding of agile methodologies in organizational contexts, particularly in the public sports sector. Methods: To achieve this, a document review based on the exploration of existing literature in different sources is proposed, considering its applicability, benefits, challenges and specific adaptations to the organizational environment of the sports industry. Results: It is revealed that more organizations are adopting this methodology, recognizing and appropriating its principles, transcending also to the sports administration. Conclusions: Agile methodologies offer a flexible and efficient approach, allowing adaptability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
